MiSTI - Materials in Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure
Research in Aggregates and Soils, Asphalt, and Concrete

MiSTI Research

The University Transportation Center for Materials in Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure at Michigan Tech is exploring new research initiatives focused on the role materials play in creating a more sustainable transportation infrastructure. Center research seeks to identify more sustainable approaches to the use of existing and conventional materials including aggregates, hot mix asphalt, and portalnd cement concrete. New research also explore innovative materials that incorporate less diminishing natural resources and an increase in the use of industrial waste, co-products and other secondary market materials like slag, cement kiln dust, recycled concrete and asphalt, fly ash and cellulous.
